Matilda tells the story of a special girl named Matilda Wormwood, who is extraordinarily smart and loves reading books. Unfortunately, her parents don’t understand her and often ignore or criticize her. Matilda feels lonely and misunderstood at home, but her love of learning strengthens her. When she starts school, she meets her kind and supportive teacher, Miss Honey, who quickly sees how excellent Matilda is.

At school, Matilda faces the terrifying headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, who is cruel and unfair to the children. Miss Trunchbull uses fear and punishment to control the school, but Matilda refuses to be scared. With her clever mind and even a touch of magical powers, Matilda finds ways to stand up to Miss Trunchbull and protect her friends.
